Parallel Axis PU recomendations and comments!

I will be starting another project soon and want to use these in it.
It will have a Swamp Ash body, OFR bridge, 25.5" scale, 24 frets (and the big experiment.....) a Douglas Fir neck with a 1/4" Bocote center strip and a Bocote FB.
I am going to use a PASTK1n in the neck position. The question is, a PATB1b or a PATB3b in the bridge position?
I currently have a C/59 hybrid with an UOA5 in the bridge position of an Alder body with an OFR bridge, and a 25.5" scale Maple neck with a Rosewood FB.
I also have an Indonesian Squire Strat with a maple neck with a Rosewood FB and a JB in the Bridge position.
I like both of these PUs in the guitars that they are in. I have not switched them around to see what the difference would be.
I play through a Boogie MK-V.

I know the neck is a total wild card.... But hay, if it doesn't work, or if I don't like it, I'll just make a different one!
So, what do you think..... the 1 or the 2?

Any ideas, thought, and/or suggestions are much appreciated.

Thanks, John

PATB-1 will sit in the sound range you're currently at. PATB-3 has lower output than the hybrid.

Either could work well, depending on what you want. PATB-1b Original Parallel Axis is a bit like a Custom 5 with sweeter high end and a bit more midrange. Can hang with JB for harmonics and output, though the tone is different.

PATB-3 Blues Saraceno is a lot like a Brobucker, a hot PAF, or an overwound '59b, but with smooth extended high end and harmonics. Not as hot sounding as your other pickups or the PATB-1b, but no slouch either.

Both are flexible pickups, PATB-3b is easier to get good cleans and edge of breakup tones out of, PATB-1b is a bit stronger for high gain.

There's also the PATB-2 Parallel Axis Distortion if you just want gonzo metal and don't care about breakup and cleans.

I've no familiarity with the neck woods or how that'll impact the guitar's tone. But unless the guitar is painfully bright, the Parallel Axis pickups should work fine.

Thanks for the responses.
How do they respond to mag changes? Can you do a mag switch on a PASTK1n ?
Any one else?

I've heard of people using A8 in a PATB-1b, reports have it a bit like a hotter Custom 8, only with a more interactive pick response and extended harmonics.

I can't recall any other magnet swaps, though there was a fair amount of speculation about what A5 would do to a PATB-2.

PA-STK1n has small ceramic magnets, I don't think it'd be easy to find replacement magnets that'd fit, and most alnico magnets wouldn't have a strong enough charge when cut down that small.
