Pared things down

Re: Pared things down

I just noticed they sell a mini version now which appears to be just that top piece. That's pretty cool.

Yeah, they've also updated the design a bit since I bought mine, to allow for easier cable routing.

I was honestly surprised by how much I was able to fit on just the topper. All I lost from the full board was a compressor, a gigantic delay pedal and an expression pedal controller for the giant delay pedal. I'm pretty sure I could fit a mini delay above the chorus if I wanted. And I might.

Re: Pared things down

The Trinity get fiddled with a fair bit -- it's one of those pedals whose sounds inspires me to write stuff I wouldn't have otherwise -- but my main go-to is the plate setting in position 6. Pretty all purpose, if you back off the mix a little. The HoF Mini has had a Sune Rose Wagner patch loaded in it for months. Really fun wash of noise when fed into the dirt.

Very cool. What do you use each reverb for?

Awesome, thanks for sharing this.

Re: Pared things down

I think it's bigger than the Double Back compressor, which is already bigger than the wide-open Texas sky.

Actually, Montana is the "big sky " state, not that the Texas sky is small or anything. At least you didn't say "New York Sky". New York has a very small sky.

Point well taken. When I was in Dallas back in 2002, the sky did not seem small. I can only imagine it's gotten larger in the intervening years.

Re: Pared things down

I do and it is. Gun to my head, I could run only the SFT, the T2 and the Shape Shifter and be perfectly happy.

I've been tempted to replace the Shape Shifter with the smaller new version, but until this one dies (something the old models are a little notorious for doing) I can't justify the $$.

you must really like trem. That thing is enormous!

Re: Pared things down

I'm not 100% sure, but I think they're the same size. I have both, so I'll have to compare.

I like the Doubleback a lot, but prefer it on bass. When I use comp on guitar, I'd rather just stick with whatever Ross-type thing is at hand.

Re: Pared things down

Woops,. Totally forgot to come back and post the pic. I was wrong: the SS is, in fact, bigger than the DoubleBack.
