Part 2: Boss GT-6 Demo! "500 Casinos"

500 Casinos

I came up with this song because around here and Vegas, there's slot machines everywhere, even in grocery stores and the local Denny's :laugh2: This has always been the norm for me, so it's odd when I travel and DON'T see them all over.

Tone-wise, I experimented with some more vintage tones and wahs.

Here is part 1 redone, if you haven't heard it:

Listening now, I like the change that happens at 25 seconds , reminds me of knight rider for some reason. The main part is very interesting, reminds me of a computer game, I could imagine this playing in the background of a platformer. I used to have a game that played music like this called battletoads. Very good and interesting music. Nice wah use in the middle.

The part at 3 minutes is very good as well. I like the recurring theme with the wah alot. There are also tones in here that are very reminiscent of a game called blast corps on the n64, very familiar. Good stuff

F8ck Biu, you really know how to make use of whack-ass tones. I LOVE it! Great tone too I like the bit at 38 seconds... it's exciting yet relaxing too.

At about 1:15, this short riff, you get a really cool VH vibe thing goin, IMO.

This is much better than the Beef and Oranges track, which is a surprise, I couldn't find many ways that track could be improved at all.

2:42 now, shredding tone is tiny bit thin but thats half the appeal! Killer playing, man.

3:18 now, those few palm muted notes give it that awesome sound.

3:30 now, repeated riff - probably my favourite riff of the track atm.

4:23 now, there's that VH vibe again

5:04 now, insane tapping. Using fingers or pick?

You are one hell of a composer Biu... crazy!

Well bloddy done, awesome, awesome, plain awesome.

Rid, I'm not familiar of who that is. Is there any site where I can hear clips?

Rainmaker, I think all the VH-sounding licks was the result of me getting VH: I, II, Fair Warning, Women and Children First, and 1984. I love DLR-era VH And yeah, that was pick-tapping. Just a cool trick I picked up when I was going through my "Joe Satriani-is-god" stage. Hehe, composer? I just hear a lot of noises in my head and put them down on guitar

Whoa! Crazy stuff. I really liked his rendition of "La Bamba". "Evil Shower" is pretty awesome too! Very weird

Nightburst, glad to hear you like the improvements! I really don't know what's coming next. I didn't know that I would come up with "500 Casinos" until I fired up my digital recorder yesterday :saeek: :saeek: :saeek: These things just come spontaneously, so we'll just wait and see what happens

Yeah I got that message too, but I went and streamed it and it worked.

This sounds great man, you're playing with much more conviction than when you used to post stuff ages ago, and the hooks you're writing are catchy as f#ck! You can deffinatley hear a computer game influence in some of the stuff which is also really cool.

If getting a guitar teacher gets you this good Biu, I'm getting one!

Of course, one must take into account ones natural ability and all that. You certainly have a technical grasp and a very precise musical influence - both of which are two elements that are rarely found in a person of your age.

But I'm just repeating what everyone else has said. I'm soon to check out the other clips, but I gtg now.
