Part Verification: Allparts Bourns Push-Pull

Re: Part Verification: Allparts Bourns Push-Pull

Not 100% sure but I can confirm that Bourns' prints the pots taper and value on the top like that. The Logo is on the side not seen in that photo.

what were you expecting price and looks wise?

Ok awesome. I'm not particularly well-versed on the pots from various manufacturers, so I didn't quite know what to expect, but I asked the tech at the shop I work at about it and he commented that they looked very similar to the stock pots he has for replacement, which he's pretty sure aren't Bourns. I saw a CTS one on the site that looked radically different and didn't quite know what to expect, though it was pretty close the the price of that. We don't have Bourns or CTS push-pulls in store, but we have some from other manufacturers that I know aren't as good that are priced higher.

That looks like a Bourns but the price isn't great to be honest. Mouser sells them for about 5 bucks each and Mouser isn't cheap on small quantities. At any rate, while I like some of the Bourns pots, the push pulls are just ok IMO. If you need a DPDT push pull, I think the newish CTS push pulls are better and for the same price.

Thanks for the heads up! The ones in the link you provided are definitely intriguing; I think I'll give those a shot and get the Bourns if I happen to not like them!

Re: Part Verification: Allparts Bourns Push-Pull

Just keep in mind that the spline knurling is different. The bourns are coarse spline and the CTS are fine spline. So, if you are replacing import pots, chances are that they are coarse spline and if you go with CTS, you will probably need to replace the knobs too.
