Partial back guitar cab for bass/organ sound from guitar octave pedal into vibe pedal

I have a partial back guitar cab I was thinking I could put a bass speaker in. I play guitar and have a stereo signal to where my regular guitar sound goes to a guitar amp then the other stereo side goes through the Nether Octaver Pedal with the octave down feature dialed in with a little bit of dry signal then into a vibe pedal that will go to a bass amp. Right now I just have the bass signal going to a PA at my practice space. I was wondering if this would work OK using a partial back guitar cab loaded with a bass speaker or should I just get a bass cab?

Either application should work. Guitar cabs are typically shallower than bass cabs and will give a puchier sound. I am wondering why you just don't run the signal through your guitar amp.

I would say a speaker cab and speaker designed for bass would be best, if you want solid bass and play with any volume at all. Too much bass into an open-back cab can quickly kill a speaker.

I want to run the octave down signal through a separate amp and speaker because I want to simulate a bass/organ sound coming from one side and then a standard electric guitar through the other.

Look for a used Peavey bass amp, TKO, TNT, COMBO 300, or DataBass. All are versatile, reliable, and relatively inexpensive used. Amps from newer decades will have enhanced features. The 15" Scorpion speaker is good; the Black Widow is very good. Depending on how loud you play, you might be able to get by with the smaller BASIC model. I've owned a TNT ($125), and now have a late '90s COMBO. I paid less than $200 for it, and it was mint. Good stuff.

Thanks for the advice. I saw a couple Black Widows for $100.
