Re: pcikguasrd or no pickguard?

On the one hand, the cream plastic pickguard compensates for the lack of a cream bobbin on the neck/Rhythm pickup. On the other hand, no pickguard and covered pickups would look better again.

Re: pcikguasrd or no pickguard?

I'm tempted to do either aged nickel covers or 1 aged nickel cover for the neck pup and leave the bridge uncovered, possibly going back to solid black bobbins on the bridge

Re: pcikguasrd or no pickguard?

No pickguard and swap the colors (black for bridge and zebra for neck) :)

Then again, I have a rooting interest. ;)

Thats a gorgeous Les Paul. Both are good, but if i have to vote then its nice without the guard and maybe a zebra in the neck too (but then again, its pretty rock and roll to have the pups not matching).

Re: pcikguasrd or no pickguard?

Without.
FWIW,my pinky catches under LP p/gs occasionally.Plus I like to feel the curve of the top.

+ 1 4 Zeeb in nk pos,or throw a topper on there.
Hell,if you're going Toppers,Dbl Cream!!!

Lovely,BTW!
Is that the one that got a Dist?

lol yeah you remembered. It did indeed get a DD, I got a zebra to keep the looks but the same but am not contemplating putting covers on them both, or maybe just the neck pup. The DD is killer btw, I like it a lot better than the custom it had before.

Kewl.
Glad it's working out!

I've got a PATB-2 I gotta put in something...close as I've come to a Dist,I think.

Love the Custom in my LPC,tho...

Re: pcikguasrd or no pickguard?

personally I think it needs the poker chip at the very least, but very nice. Can't go wrong w a white custom

If I ruled the world it would be criminal to cover up any more of a flame maple top that beautiful than is absolutely necessary.

I vote no pickguard. Furthermore, take off that silly plastic surround around your pickup selector switch. You know where rhythm and lead are.

Re: pcikguasrd or no pickguard?

Since the pickguard holes are drilled, leave the guard. And go with two zebras.

I'd only leave a pickguard off on the rare Gibsons that didn't drill for them. That's my only reasoning on the pickguard.
