Pearly Gates & 78: mismatched or not? Clarification needed

I had always understood that both these models had slightly mismatched coils, but I've read a few posts here recently that quote Evan as saying the pg has matched coils, and M.J. mentioned to someone that the 78 did as well. Could we get the official word on that? (before it starts keeping me up at night

I'm unsure if they are mismatched or not. Those who have the PG say that the coils are very slightly mismatched -- to the point that it would be a natural tolerance. My theory is that Seymour prefers the sound of matched coils.
