pearly gates...? booster ckt...? :s

hi guys,

how was christmas?

question: I've built a booster ckt to put in an effects pedal, just a simple sort of solo boost thing, got the schem of the internet...

It works fine with my all my single coils on my mexi strat and on my fat strat texas specials are fine BUT put it on the pearly gates and the signal gets all crackly and nasty.

I'm guessing with it being a humbucker the signal is hotter now??!?!?

why isn't this a problems with any of my shop bought pedals??

anyone know anything I can do to solve this?

what cap value did you use for the first cap? a .005 should work well for both humbuckers and single while a .001 works well with singles. It could be a problem down the line too, like a resistor that is too small. which schem did you use. post a link to it and i will check it out today and get back to you.

hi mate,

I used a .1uf for input - them green film ones.

schem was this:

breaks up reasonably well until about 3/4's on the gain then it all goes a bit pear shaped.

you reckon I'd be better of with a smaller input cap?
