Pearly Gates bridge pup

just wondering if anyone has tried a PG bridge pup in the neck position. I know that the Jazz bridge tends to work well in the neck whereas the 59b is frequently too bassy. haven't read anything on the PG used like this though.

Yes; it's magic in my thin-bodied mahogany S-series Ibanez. Very sweet, well-defined for an A2, and sings. Matches up well with the Fred at the bridge. Splits amazingly well.

I've got it installed backwards (screw coil down), but otherwise it's a bog-standard PGb.

excellent :headbang:

I want something with a just a little more output than my Jazz/59 hybrid to match with the Alt 8 in the bridge.

I do have a PG+ in my parts box . . . just have to extend the leads a little . . .

I dug it in my Carvin DC127T when I had it paired with a CC. It's fat, yet clear with a singing lead voice and a beautiful clean tone for jazzy comping.

Any bridge PAF can work well in the neck position. If you have dark or thick wood (LP), a neck version may be a little clearer & brighter in the neck position, and in a bright or thin wood, the bridge model PAF may actually sound better in the neck than the neck model. But either way, you won't be radically different.
