Anybody ever tried the 59/Custom hybrid concept with a Pearly Gates and a Custom Custom?

Yes, I have. Great pickup! Right between PG and CC.
Around 11k, tried al2 and al5. Sorry, no demos.
Liked it better than JB/59 and 59/C.

I made two. Similar sounds in serial humbucker mode.

I have a pg slug/c screw rough cast A5 mag bridge hybrid along with a pg screw/ jazz slug A3 mag for the neck neck hybrid. Absolutely love these pu's. They sound great playing anything from cleans to modrate metal.

I find this an intriguing choice. I think the PG/CC combo is an awesome thing, particularly for cleans.

I was going to try a PG/C hybrid, but I really like the EQ of a Demon so I made two hybrids from the Demon and Custom...each with a UOA5 magnet. Not much difference between the two.

Man!!! Those are the bees knees!!

ive wondered about the pg/custom hybrid. I'll have to give that a try sometime. Also the pg/jazz for the neck sounds interesting too

the custom is such an amazing pickup that it pairs up easily with other pickups in a hybrid.
Ive liked everything Ive heard of the custom/59. and the custom/jb is arguably the best sounding pickup ive ever played

regular ceramic. Ive tried the A8 and liked it too
