could anyone tell me if a pearly gates humbucker will replace the stock Di Marzio humbucker in the bride position of my Parker Nitefly SA without any mods to the guitar or pickguard? Also does anybody have any thoughts on mixing the duncan humbucker with the stock dimarzio single coils on the parker, as I really like the sound of the single coils, I just want some more balls from the humbucker! any heip would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

Re: pearly gates in Parker Nitefly SA?

I've got a 2001 SA and my SD invader fits fine. The only mod was cutting the adjusting screws & springs to fit the cavity. The wiring codes between SD & Di Marzio are different; the link below translates them.

As for balancing against the singles, if your model is later than '98, I think you'll be fine because I'm guessing the output of the pearly gates is equal or less than the stock Di Marzio, whose output was raised in '99.

As for the pearly gate's sound, I've never played it, so I have no clue if it's more ballsy than the Di Marzio. I felt the Di Marzio wasn't too bad or low outpout, just a bit dark and compressed. Medium output IMO. If you want more balls without getting into very high output, someone here would know better what other chocies may work.

Re: pearly gates in Parker Nitefly SA?

thanx for the reply, My nitefly is one of the earlier models, definitely pre 1999 Acording to my manual the length of the dimarzio logo on the pickups changed in 1999 to 5/8" long and prior to that the logo is 3/8" long My is the original Di Marzio's with the 3/8" logo I think the stock humbucker is pretty good too, I just think I could do a little better ( A little more output and a little bigger/ fuller sound If anyone else has any input on putting the "pearly gates" in the bride position, please post a reply
