Pearly Gates wiring advice

Hi folks!

I bought a 2nd hand Pearly Gates bridge pup on "the online marketplace" - it arrived today, everything looks fine, still in the original packaging inc the official wiring diagram. The person i bought it from said they bought it recently, tried it in their guitar, wasn't keen on it so decided to sell it on, and i got a great deal on it!

I have a question about the wiring though - obviously this has been in a guitar before, but it looks like it's been wired into the guitar incorrectly (if i'm reading the diagrams correctly). The red and white wires have been soldered together (coil tap) which seems correct, but the bare wire has been soldered to the black wire while the green wire is by itself - would i be right in saying the black wire should be on it's own (the live wire) and wired to the pup contact while the bare wire should be soldered together with the green wire and grounded to the back of the pot?

Assuming i'm correct, could this incorrect wiring have done any damage to the pup? (i'm pretty new to this stuff). Thanks for any help folks :)

Nope. No damage would be caused by wiring it like this. It's wired out of phase with other duncans, but otherwise, it'll be fine. Just swap green and black if it's out of phase with the other pickup currently in your guitar.
