Peavey 5150 II Help!!

Hey guys, I hope someone can help me out here.

I went to play my 5150 II this morning, and I got nothing outta it. All the connections are still proper, and the amp isn't in standby or anything. I checked the tubes, and they are all working properly and installed right. Any idea what could be going on?

I was playing it last night for about 2 hours and no problems at all. I shut it off and went to bed, and this AM it didn't work.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Peavey 5150 II Help!!

Check the high voltage fuse (if it has one). Sometimes and arc in the standby switch can blow that fuse, and it won't function.

Re: Peavey 5150 II Help!!

if you don't have anything in your effects loop, try putting a 1 ft cable there....might be the return jack thats the problem. Are all the preamp tubes/power amp tubes still lighting up?

Ahh now too look like a total n00b. Actually decided to look in the back when it was on... and the tubes are a negatory on lighting up :( Might have blown the tubes eh?

I just don't know how that could happen, given they were fine the night before.

The heaters in the tubes aren't lighting up? Definitely check fuses. Might just take it to a tech. could be something easy, or it could be worse, you never know.

Re: Peavey 5150 II Help!!

So neither the preamp or the power tubes get any power at all? Check the fuses. Has any of the fuses blown before?

Re: Peavey 5150 II Help!!

Takin the head to a tech today, then we'll find out for sure whether it's the fuse or the tubes... I have no desire to mess with the insides myself. lol

Thanks for the help though guys, much appreciated.
