I think I am done messing with the monster, for good, which likely means a couple months ....lol
I got home early today, and with no wife, I was free to make noise. This is a re-do ( for clip purpose only) of one of my finished tunes, Hot Thang Fantasy, which is still on my music pages. Just is a quick recording session, so there are some flubs, this is not meant to be a final version of anything other than making this clip. My goal all along was to fatten the amp up up, get the buzz out and make it sound more 70s hard vs 80s hard ....I have phase out the wazoo on it, a lil tape delay and am useing a fat old CTS Alnico speaker I snatched from an old Multivox amp. I have a Radio Shack PZM back about 10 feet, I didn't mess a ton with position. The amp is a little brighter than the mic reveals, but it gets the vibe of the amp pretty well. I don't like crunch, I like big, fat, round sounds..... I am useing my newly received, 83 Ibanez Roadstar with the original V2 bucker ( clone of a Super Distortion, I learned from an expert on this here forum).... It is much fatter than the usual low output stuff I play.
The fidelity ain't perfect on this sample, but the vibe is there and this amp is sounding much more like my non master heads. My biggest recent tweak was upping the value of the output coupling caps to .047 from .022. No gain boost on the amp, I only have the mid boost switch engaged, the rest of the little switches are off. Master dimed. pre on 6/12, bass 6, mid 10, treble 2, presence 10. Weber Mass inplay....
