Pegasus/Sentient 7 string comparison to Pegasus/Sentient 6 sting models...

I’ve narrowed my pickup choices to a 7 string Pegasus and Sentient set. However I’ve only heard the Pegasus 7 on badly or overly produced YouTube videos. I have however played the 6 string versions of both on guitars at Guitar Center. I liked them and based my choice on them retaining the basic qualities of the 7 string models that came out first. I very briefly played the 7 string Sentient in a Keith Merrow schecter and thought it seemed good. But how much do the six string versions compare to the seven string ones? Should I expect them to naturally be darker (I felt the Peg6 was a hair touch on the dark side in an ESP H-1001 which is Mahogany with a maple top and a maple set neck with an ebony fingerboard. It sounded great but I’m planning on putting the 7 set in a basswood Sterling JP70. I’m hoping for something very similar or even a bit brighter out of them in comparison. Thanks.

I think they are very similar. Any differences you hear might just come down to the individual instrument, and could be a number of other factors. In other words, if you love the 6 string version, you will also love the 7 string version. I've always thought 6 and 7 string guitars are sort of different sounding anyway, but I don't think that is just the longer pickup coils.
