Pending NGD - Ibanez AGR73T

On 30-day hold now, so I won't have it until late next month. But I am really jazzed about this Ibanez AGR73T maple hollow body/mahogany neck with a Bigsby-style trem and roller saddles. This is easily the classiest-looking sparkly-painted guitar you will ever see. I can't wait to see what it looks like under stage lighting.

The quality of these MIC Ibanez-es continues to surprise me. How will they take my money next?

Anticipatory NGD posts are dangerous. They can cause a drop in temperature, if you know what I mean...

Re: Pending NGD - Ibanez AGR73T

^ Money down, mang. I would've walked out with it yesterday if I could. (Keith at GC even double-checked the pawn hold date, just to be sure.)

@Rand-O: Yes, it comes with an Ibanez hardshell case. It's a tad lose in there, but it needs a big case to fit that trem arm. When I see an immaculate guitar on the used rack (even if it's only a couple years old) it's a good bet that it has a case.

In case it's not obvious, I am a bit obsessed with Ibanez guitars. My first electric was a CN250 and I've stuck with the brand ever since. I am still waiting patiently for them to come a-knocking with that endorsement deal...

White Falcon On A Budget !!!!

(...just add TV Jones pick ups now)

Happy New Guitar Day to YOU . . . when you get it !!!

I would not mind getting one in black !

Re: Pending NGD - Ibanez AGR73T

What's the story with the stock pups? Toaster lookalikes...

They look pretty cool. According to the Ibanez site, they are ACH3-M(n) and ACH4-M(b) pickups, which basically means "ArtCore Humbucker Mini". Ibanez describes them as "Mini size humbucker, clean sounding, moderate output with warm high end." I'll have my own assessment of them in late February. (Is it getting cold in here?)

I'm tempted to remove the clear pick guard.

Heh... I had the same thought about TV Jones.

This would look sharp in black, though I don't see that as an option. They call this color "Twinkle Snow." Now it IS getting cold in here!

Hm, interested to hear what they're like when you get the guitar. I wonder if they come with a soundpost installed; probably a good idea to do it if they don't.

Ibanez is offering this model in orange this year, looks very Gretschy.

Hello . . .

Re: Pending NGD - Ibanez AGR73T

Long overdue follow-up. I've had this guitar for a couple months now. Here it is, sitting pretty with all the case candy. So sparkly!

This thing is like a blushing bride who surprises you with the number of tricks she already knows.

Re: Pending NGD - Ibanez AGR73T

nice guitar, i have the ARZ800, its nu-metal cousin, also MIC, also ARTist, and it just rocks.

Re: Pending NGD - Ibanez AGR73T

I have wanted to get an ARZ, but didn't bond with the rare one or two that I've seen around. Someday...

Re: Pending NGD - Ibanez AGR73T

Whats that switch near the 21st fret?

It's this cool new feature on some high end guitars. It somehow enables you to use either pickup alone, or in combination together. Think of it as another way to kick your sound up from "throb throb throb" to "wee wee weeeeee!!!"

Or maybe you're looking at the (clear plexi) pickguard mounting hardware.

Re: Pending NGD - Ibanez AGR73T

I thought maybe it turned on the neons in the fretboard hehe

Whats that switch doing there? Seems like a odd place t have it, right in the way and all. Or is it a nipple? because that would make more sense.
