Petersen Stroboclip

Thinking a new tuner that can handle Buzz offsets might be nice - have a Turbo Tuner but something that I don't have to unplug my board would make things more convenient.

Anyone have one of these? What do you think of it?

Re: Petersen Stroboclip

my friend has one. lots of flashing lcd. he keeps leaving it everywhere too.
Check out the planet waves mini. small, easy to read and you can leave it on your axe.

Re: Petersen Stroboclip

Thanks - Already ordered one by the time you posted as I found a deal. Big plus for me is I have some extra batteries to fit it - same as my Oasis Hydrometer.

Was looking as a quick/easy tune without plugging in the Turbo Tuner.

Re: Petersen Stroboclip

Clip on tuners are the best guitar invention in the last 10 years. I like the Planet Waves regular clip on so much, I'll probably get a mini version eventually. Just about all of the brands out there work really well, and I'm sure the Petersen is one of the better ones.

Just a tip on batteries.....Harbor Freight Tools sells 4 packs of CR2032 for $2. You can stock up on them for the majority of clip on tuners.

FWIW, I use the Stroboclip on my Martin since it doesn't have any electronics in it and it works great. The Strobostomps I've been less than pleased with, but that's why I have my Turbo Tuner.

You can get them on Ebay for cheaper than that even. I believe we paid $10 or $15 for a pack of 100.

Re: Petersen Stroboclip

Strob tuners are exceptional when doing a setup, but when you clip it on your guitar you just want to keep the guitar tuned. The strob feature IMHo is overkilll in a small clip type of tuner. I have a Sabine tuner that I use when playing my acoustics. Its simple to use is accurate enough to keep in tune & I paid $24.00 for it.

On my bench I have a Boss TU12. Its at least 15 to 20 years old. I need to change the battery occasionally but other then that its great. I have done every setup with that tuner. On my boards(I have three) I have a TU2 on one, a TU3 on another and a Matrix on a third. They all do the job!
