Pete's pedals Pro Co RAT w/ NOS LM-308N

sounds like a good rat. other than the nos chip, what else is different?

A Reutz mod pot, a 3 way diode clip dip switch. He changes some caps and he puts sockets in most his pedals to save the hassle of soldering allowing you to swap / mix & match.

Pete is a true Pro. He can fix or bring back to life about anything and he comes across rare hard to find stuff regularly.

Huh, he operates a short drive from me.

I'm not a big fan of the Reutz mod on it's own, but putting it on a pot would get rid of everything I don't like about it. The op-amp swap doesn't do much except make the pedal cooler.

I might have to reach out to him.

I'll just say not all LM-308 chips are the same. You'd be surprised.

Yeah, I haven't messed around with op amps in a Rat to say whether changing the op amp (not even just OP07 -> LM308; any op amps for that matter) makes a worthwhile difference, but I'll say that just by adding a touch of gain to the pre-dist bass, my Rat is good enough that I've never felt the need to make any other changes to it.
