Phat Cat grounding / wiring question

I realized that I really like how my Jaguar sounds but just am not really into all the bells and whistles that it has. SO, I've pulled everything out and have decided to go with a 3-way (LP style) switch, 1 tone, 1 volume and the Phat Cats I've had in it for a while.

So, I was looking at some diagrams and they don't necessarily have one for 2 phat cats but the tele style diagram should work fine so I'm working off of that:

with this in mind: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=3ws_trans

Anyway, I'm really just needing to figure out how to ground everything. As you can see in this pic:

My hot goes to A and my ground(s) will go to B. That wouldn't be such a huge problem except that the Phat Cats are one single wire with the ground on the outside. As you can see this is a very long distance apart within the cavity of the guitar. So it would be impossible to route them to both locations.

If I just solder a wire to the ground of the neck and then one to the ground of the bridge and wire those new wires to the ground at the volume pot I'm assuming that will be fine. Am I right in this assumption or will this cause more issues?

I've done this before and it hasn't caused any issues. It would also probably be just as easy to lengthen the hot wire from your pups so that it can reach right up to the switch. Either would work. Hamerfan's right, though, the switch does need to be grounded.

A long time ago, I rewired my Les Paul shaped Aria (for complicated reasons that I won't go into) so that the pickups went to the switch and then a single volume and tone. Since the pickups were '59s, I had the same problem as you. I can't really remember, but I think what I did was solder the braided sleeve on the ground lug of the switch and then take a wire from there all the way down to the back of the pot, so that the switch and the pickups were being grounded by the same wire.

Good luck. :beerchug:

hey, thanks for the responses guys.

I had thought about this suggestion as well last night. This seems like the easiest of options but I figured it was so easy and convenient that it wouldn't work for some reason. I'll try it this way and test it when I get a chance to do some wiring (probably tomorrow night)
