Phat cat in an HSS strat

As the title suggests I'm thinking of putting a Phat Cat or something of that nature in an HSS strat I'm getting in the future. Have any you tried this?

Personally I have not tried a Phat Cat in the bridge of a HSS Strat (technically SSS, Phat Cats are single coil pickups.) I personally prefer the Phat Cat in the neck, not a big fan of the bridge position BUT that is just me.

I would say there is no harm in trying it, those are cool pickups that can be modded with multiple types of magnets so the tonal options are extensive. Something else to consider would be a P-Rail.

Once I had this idea to pair Phat Cat bridge with strat neck pickup in tele body. Before I made it, the strat pickup was sold. Maybe I'll try it someday with a tele neck pickup. I never like strat bridge pickup, too thin and bright. So Phat Cat in the bridge of a strat paired with vintage sounding strat pickups in the middle and neck seems good on the paper. Keep the 250k pots.

I prefer Tele Bridge pickups–have had good luck using a base plate on my Strat Bridge pickups (thanks to this forum for that tip.)

I had a friend who did this. It had enough of that single coil cut to make the bridge pickup of a strat usable for me. It is a great choice.

These are the options for a Shop Floor Custom, so my guess is no.
