Phat Cat Sound Clips?

There's no sound clips of the Phat Cats on the main site. Does anyone have any? Specifically, I'd love to hear them in a 335 style guitar.
:opcorn:

Re: Phat Cat Sound Clips?

i can tellyou from first hand/ear experience that phat cats sound great in a 335-style guitar ... about a year or so ago, a member here, brisk, had some of us over for a jam and his washburn 335 style had a set of phat cats in it and they were easily the tonal highlight of the day - and that was comparing them to guitars costing 4 or 5 times as much

very sweet organic open woody sound without being shrill in the highs or muffled in the lows ... great great pickups (if you don't mind the hum)

Great to hear! About the hum, the description says two will cancel each other out because one is reverse wound. Hmm...

Re: Phat Cat Sound Clips?

only in middle position i think, read carefully, check harmony central for reviews
i'm gonna switch to EMG p-90s once i can afford them.

Re: Phat Cat Sound Clips?

It's a two pickup configuration for me. They're going in a Epi Dot. So I guess it will be hum cancelling.

I made a clip a while back:
Phat Cat in Les Paul Neck

If you love the pickup but don't like the hum, you can order a phat cat stack from the custom shop. Of course, it will cost a bit more :D

Here it is: a lot of phat cat clips ( and SH4 as well):

btw, I plan to put a PC in the bridge position of my Schecter PT Tele but the neck position is not routed for an humbucker sized pup, it's closer to a mini-humbucker or Filtertron like pup.
What would be the best match (TV Jones ???tron or SM-? mini-humbucker) with a Phat Cat bridge ???
I'd like to achieve a little bit warmer sound but still with the clarity of a single coil... let's say a 50% humbucker + 50% single coil sound...
Any suggestions ?
