PhatCat fitment for strat

I am considering installing a pair of these in a Strat in either a H/H pickguard, or in the neck and bridge with a single coil in the middle.

Anbody know if these will fit in the standard humbucker slots of a Strat style pickguard?

thanks,
kurtster

It might be a tight fit because of the cover but with a little filing on the pickguard you could get it in.

They'll fit anywhere you can mount a regular humbucker. The only problems you might run into will be with polepiece spacing on the bridge pickup. It might be too narrow to line up with the strings on your strat.

Actually, you'd probably be able to get away with just sanding down the sides of the pickguard's cavity a bit. Shouldn't take too much work to get it in.

How does it sound compared to Duncan's Vintage P-90 or the Phat Cats?

I use a dremel with a coarse sandpaper wheel (aprox 3/8" diameter) to open up Strat guards all the time. It's very quick and works like a charm.
