I talked about my amp on the forum, but never posted pictures.
Hope you enjoy them.

Refinishing it crossed my mind a few times, but the natural looks grew on me and now I really like it this way.

Cool looking amp! I notice you have a couple of extra switches on top, and an extra switch and knob underneath. Is one of them for negative feedback( say the 2 underneath)? What are they all for, just curious?

Thank you both.

I forgot to explain the extra knobs and switches.
Counting from the jewel light they are:
-on/off
-stand by
-Two different resistors (one is the Fender stock the other I can't remember but it cuts the volume a bit and tames the highs)
-Three different capacitors (Fender stock/No capacitor/Again I can't remember what the other is but it warms up the sound and gives it a bit more mids, the cleans become closer to a Marshall 18Watts than a Fender)

Now for the back of the amp:
Switch: changes between fixed and cathode bias
Pot: Used for the fixed bias,

It may seen a bit confusing but it really isn't, it's very nice it helps with the versatility.

Man, that is just a gorgeous amp! I wouldn't refinish it, either. You should post some audio clips.

Did you build this yourself?

Thank you very much.
I don't have a way to record it, whenever I think of spending money on recording gear some deal comes up, darn GAS.

Unfornatly no. I would most probably kill myself if I tried building an amp from scratch.
It's actually a funny story. It was made by a friend, I just had to pay for the parts and wait he would do it free of charge, but I didn't have enough money and he couldn't wait for too long so another friend of his accept the deal, paid for the parts and got the amp, made me really sad because I wanted a deluxe for years and couldn't afford a vintage one. Now for the funny twist his friend as a good friend of mine and months later I called because he had a new amp he wanted to show me, when I saw the amp I laughed my butt off, because I had no idea he was the guy, that's what you get for living in a small country.
A few months ago I phoned and told me he was selling the homemade tweed and I bought it.

That's part of why I wanna keep the finish it reminds when I had no money and couldn't get an amp I wanted for years, and then all of sudden I had a chance to own one and had to pass it, a couple of years later the same amp comes to my door, when I got it I couldn't sleep for days.

great amps ... I mainly play my '56 Deluxe or my Mission 5E3.

I love mine stock, but your mods look pretty practical.

Thanks bro.

yah! +1

mahog? or pine

Fortunatly it's pine.

You're right Jolly it is heavy.

The metal chassis is very thick and the same for the pine, and why you might ask?
Because that's the portuguese way of life.
Both the cab and the chassis were made by two very talented old folks, problem is my friend told them it was for a guitar amp that would be on the road and so being good portuguese people they made it from the thickest heaviest pine they could find...

One time I had to carry it for two or three blocks and man did my shoulder and back hurt in the morning.

What kind of speaker do you have in there?

I am thinking of building one and I am trying to figure out what speaker to get.

I have a Celestion G12H I tried a Greenback and a Fender in this amp, if you want too I can give you small review and compare the three.

For some reason I can picture him lumbering that sweet amp though our streets in a brisk morning, setting it down, tired as hell, feeling hot as a fried egg and happy as a nut cause he had a sweet amp.

I hate you. I love your amp. I'm running away with it.
