Pick Guard for a semi hollow/Full hollow that has knobs on it.

I was looking at hollow and semi hollow body guitars and I couldn't find one that had the vol knob close to or past the bridge pup until I came across some sort of Ibanez Artcore model that had the vol and tone knobs on the pick guard itself but I wanted to know if their are any other companies that build semi/full hollow bodies with the knobs closer to the bridge or built in to the pick guard?

Can you post a picture so we get a better idea of what you're looking for?

I remember a Bennedito or DeAngelino or some such with side rollers peeking out from under the pickguard

I can't remember the name

It was one of those fancy ones

Gibson has a couple including the Lee Ritenour Sig.

All early hollow bodys had knobs on the pickguard. The pickup was mounted to the guard and all the volume & tone pots were mounted on the guard. These are known as "floating" pickup guitars. They are truly acoustic guitars that have the pickups mounted on the guard. If a player wanted to play it as acoustic, then they could remove the pickupard very easily, yet if you were playing with a drummer and in a big band you could plug it in. These guitars were very cool as no damage was done to the top or the braces mounting the electronics into the guitar.

This is a Johnny Smith Gibson and it was made in a few different configurations. Some were made with one pickup mounted on the guard & some were made with Two.
