Hey guys,

Can anyone please suggest the best set of Tele pickups for me?

I need a versatile axe as I play music that requires me to go from crystal-clear smooth cleans to full on Big Muff fuzz.

I have a Nashville Tele and I like it's clean tone, but when I go dirty the Tex-Mex pups can't handle it and they go very badly microphonic. I'm sure I've lost some of the higher register of my hearing due to the squeals.

Vintage stacks from SD won't squeal as they are stacked humbuckers. They do still sound like single coils, though.

I think a traditional Tele bridge with a bucker in the neck might be good. You'll still keep your nice cleans, but have a bit more "oomph" for driven tones. Maybe even add a 4-way switch for the pickups in series.

+1. A JD in the bridge, and a minibucker in the neck (if you don't mind routing) would be a killer set up. I'm not sure what to suggest for the middle.

what are the differences between series and parallel wiring, tone-wise?

I would put a bucker in the neck, but routing isn't really an option for me, this guitar means alot to me, and the body must remain as is.

what sorta tone do you get from stacks?

I use a Broadcaster bridge and a Fralin Blues Special neck with the 4-way, and the 4th position gives me a thicker humbuckerish-type sound. Adds a nice extra to the Tele tonal palette.
