Do pick up covers cause any problems with tone of the pick up?

no problems, some people dont notice any difference but i think that there is a subtle smoothing out of the top end.
if a low quality cover is used then the can be a very noticable loss of high end and clarity

Are there black pickup covers for trembuckers or there are only golden and nickel?
