Pick Yer Brain Out

I gotta follow-up my Ernie Ball vs. D'Addario thread with a pick question. I recently picked-up some Thin Jerry Garcia picks that are awesome... they were more expensive but have been much more durable than the Fenders I had been using before.

What do you use? :smash:

Re: Pick Yer Brain Out

Dunlop Tortex picks in green (.88) for electrics and yellow (.73) for acoustics. They're fairly cheap, feel very natural, and they're easy to find...

+1 to the tortex 1.14s . . . they do last forever, and they give pretty good control. If I'm just doing some acoustic strumming (or electric funk) and no soloing though I usually use some of the .88 nylon dunlop picks . . . they really move fast over the strings.

Re: Pick Yer Brain Out

Dunlop Tortex 1.14mm "The Purple Pick". Been using them for close to 15 years now.

Re: Pick Yer Brain Out

White fender mediums for 9s strings and heavy fenders low tuned 56s. The only time I'm out of picks is when my son hides them all.

Fender Heavy Celluoid or Dunlop Picks(Tortex?)...The light blue ones
if the dunlops have a turtle on them when there new and are bright blue then they are 1.00 mm tortex's

Re: Pick Yer Brain Out

Dunlop Ultex 1.14s... only things I'll use now. Used to use Fenders, Dunlop Gator Grips/Tortex. They're just more articulate and last longer than others I've tried. I can do string rakes and it does nothing to the pick, I swear they're indestructable.

+1. I love the Ultex series, but they only have a few sizes available. I still find myself using the red, as well as the orange Tortex series.
