Picked up a Fillmore set for my McNaught VSC...what can I expect?

The stock Rio's were too dark and thick sounding for my tastes. I swapped them out for a Dimarzio vPAF/vHPAF set. Much better than the Rio's, but now there is a bit too much high end. Anyone here use the Fillmores?

I had one in my LP Custom for quite a while, and used it with a Crossroads neck. You'll definitely get the Fillmore - Allman Brothers sound out of them. What was really cool was cranking the gain way up and getting a John Sykes-like tone. I eventually switched to a Darkburst, but I'm gonna be getting rid of that one too. WCR pickups are incredible, I just don't think they are for me.

hmm...Sykes like tone....AWESOME! I guess it'll sound pretty damn good through my Boogie IIC+.

It's an incredible set! My R7 had the set when I got it back in January. It'll do Duane to perfection and then some. I did replace the bridge with the Brobucker, but still have the neck in and it's a keeper. It is a hot pup, but retains that openess of a good PAF. Hopefully Lee_M will chime in here as well.
