Picked up a new bass!

I had an SX jazz bass, and liked it alot, but have been GASing for a P bass for a while. I sold the SX and picked this guy up in its place. Its an '80s JB player P bass. It came with a black pickguard, but I threw on a tortoise guard and replaced the electronics with CTS pots and a switchcraft jack. It plays great and the pickup sounds really good.

I'm not too familliar with JB players. Anyone know about them or how to date them?
