Pickguard opinions please....

Hey guys, you all did such a great job with my last request that I settled on the tortoise with my SRV and it's killer!

Now, I have black body with maple neck. I was thinking the mint green might be cool. White pickups will be going in. I guess tortoise could be cool as well.

If you could get an Anodized-Gold-color pickguard, I think that would also look really cool. I saw them made by both Fender and Sharp Concepts.

Well, like you said, tortoise on a black guitar, is one of my favorite combo's.
Or any kind of dark red pearloid/marble etc.

i'd go with a fender anodized gold guard on that guitar for sure...would look real classy IMO!!

I like the mint idea. A friend used to have a MIJ J-bass with that exact combo. Against black, with a maple board, the effect was almost more parchment than green. it just had a cool aged look to it.

Another one to consider would be snakeskin/anaconda. I've got it on my arctic white J-bass and it's very cool -- looks like a cool mottled brown until you really look at it and realize it's reptillian. It really brings out the yellow in that white, too. I've seen it on black before, though, and it's not bad.

Mint or even a cream color might look good with the maple neck. I had pearloid on my black/maple necked Strat. Thene there is the tortoise, such a classic. I know it's tough decision. I'm mulling over a new pickguard for my SG. I will vote for cream.

Oh yeah, don't forget about the Fender CS copper/amber moto guard and white or black plastic parts. Or black moto with aged white plastic parts.
