man, i cant wait to get it here to experiment with.....its a 79 Hiwatt DR103S with a 1960A MArshall cab.......got em both for $950........not bad

i loved the power, punch, and smooth overdrive the hiwatt had when i test drove it, and it could stay clean forever.........ill give a full report once i get a chance to mess with it a little

Ah a Hiwatt, and the DR103 is an awesome amp....
Be prepared to soil yourself when you take a look inside....neat is the order of the day along with, built like a tank!!

well picked her up........shes got some sweet warm tone guys...... turn the gain up about half way and your in WHOland...... about 3/4 gain and its similar to a marshall type crunch, at full gain its a little too fuzzy for me....but thats not what i wanted the amp for anyways

keep the gain knobs down and the master up and you get some of the most beautiful warm and sweet clean tones you could ever want......and the bass response is just MASSIVE

and keep in mind that i only had the master on around 9 o clock......so this babies tone didnt even start to kick in yet......my family went though some hard times today, so i wont be able to crank it till tomarrow (although i did get it up to about 5 when tryin it out and the punch was devastating!)

phew this baby smokes when turned to about 5 on the master..... it sounds real nice when below 5, but not very ballsy or loud......... but when you get to 5 it kicks in and man this amp is meant for sonic annihilation! :dance: i still dont love it with the gained turned up past maybe 6 or 7......just gets too fuzzy

but with gain around 5.......i swear im hearin pete townshend......... and this is just the preamp stuff, later today i will be daring enough to set it pretty clean and crank it full bore to see how this thing breaks up naturally :saeek:

But make sure to stand far away from it..because it is loud!
