picking up my first LP at lunch!!!!!

I'm stoked!! I'm picking up a Gibson Les Paul Studio at the music store in one hour!! It's white with gold hardware.
Kinda looks like this one -> http://www.fredsmusic.com/images/gilpstud_wht_gld_0377.JPG

It's used, but is in mint condition! $1,300 Canadian with case ain't a bad price for a Gibby LP. I'm going to sell my Jackson King V on consignment at the store to offset the price a bit. The Jackson just wasn't doing it for me.

Anyway, I've got my Strat, a LP & a Marshall. The 3 staples of rock n' roll. I'm set!!! I'll post pics when I can.

Cheers - Rob

Sure, Chris gets a Bad Cat & now he knows EVERYTHING!!! :laugh2: :laugh2:

On a more serious note, that's what I call a lunch break!!!

Yeah, you can probably find one cheaper, but this one you get to play first...and if it fits, does saving a few bucks really matter????

Rock on Brother!

Hate to kill the joy in this thread, but for a Studio you can do A LOT better than 1300 canadian. I sold my hotrodded Gibson Les Paul Standard for 1150. You can do even better on places like eBay. Why buy a guitar that can be had for $800 for $1300?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=38086&item=3746350432&rd=1
I know that but first: I didn't wanna be the killjoy
second: If it's mint and he was able to try it, that's better than taking a gamble over a studio on ebay IMO...

Re: picking up my first LP at lunch!!!!!

I've got it at work now, & the clock is very slow waiting til 4:30 so I can get this puppy home & plug in. (tick.tick...tick.......tick) $1300 (Canadian) might be a bit steep, but everyone I showed this guitar to at work thought it was brand new. Hardly a scratch on it. I love this guitar & I'm sure it will work off the cash I paid for it in no time. When I'm buried with this thing (hopefully not for 50 years) The price I paid for it will be nothing compared to the years & years of enjoyment it has given me.

Enjoy it and let us know what it sounds like when you get home. Don't forget you have to treat it nice - talk to it, feed it, water it, polish it and even take it out every now and then oh and you have to give it a name as well..:32:

Re: picking up my first LP at lunch!!!!!

ya a LP studio is aweosme man! i plan ons aing up to buy one eventually too, i might looked for one used instead of new should save me some cash if only i can find a used guitar store. Also id say buy the guitar you can play over ebay, i would never buy somehting like a guitar over the net too risky, you gotta know exactly what your buying and spending your hard earned money on. And there is always the chance you get ripped off. PLay it safe an youll be alot happier. Congrats btw man your gonna love the LP i know i do and i dont even own one yet!

Re: picking up my first LP at lunch!!!!!

The sooner you get to Les Paul, Strat, and Marshall, the better. All the other guys are confused for years on end.....then one day they wake up and realize they've been dabbling in 'second best' for far too long. They say, Gibson is overrated, Fender is nothing but a bolt on, and Marshall's best days are behind them. It's a nice fantasy, but they'll come around eventually.....or spend another 20 years living in darkness.
Ha Ha, but not really.
