Pickup advice a Washburn

Hi, another pickup advice question

I have a Washburn RS-10V guitar with two stock "Select designed by EMG" pickups I'd like to change. The guitar has mahogny body with a maple top, mahogny set neck with a carbonite fretboard and a Floyd Rose licensed tremolo.

I mostly play hard rock/metal and the Seymour Duncan Tone Wizard suggested the JB or PATB-2 Distortion Trembucker as bridge pickup and Alnico II Pro or '59 as neck pickup. I am also considering the Duncan Custom (bridge) or Jazz (neck). Listening to the audio clips the JB sounds nice, but trebly. Does it need a really warm guitar not to sound too trebly or thin? (or something a 250 k volume pot can fix).

Someone has any experience or opinions with pickups to such a guitar or wood combination?

welcome to the forum!!

the carbonite fretboard is something ive never seen or heard.

i think a tb-5 (trem spaced custom) is a good all around rock pup and might be a great choice for your guitar. the jb can be a little bright sounding but there are things, like using 250k pots, that can warm it up.

I believe carbonite fretboard is the same as graphite - which according to the Tone Wizard is similar to ebony.

What about the neck pickup, I like the bright clearness of the Jazz on the audio samples, but maybe the '59 is a better match for the Custom?

I ended up ordering a TB-5 Duncan Custom (bridge) and a SH-2 Jazz (neck). I think they will sound good.
Thanks Jeremy for the TB-5 advice.
