Pickup advice - Evos'?

I'm not sure if any of you have seen this, a rather cool flash thing - www.guitarshredshow.com - but it's worth a look, the guy is a great player obviously influenced a lot by Vai...

Apart from the entertainment value, the thing is I really like his tone, very smooth and full with great harmonics, and I'm wondering what pickups he uses. I first thought Evo's, but have heard mostly bad things about them in reading this board for the last few months. If not Evos, what would be a pickup for his type of lead tone?

The guitar is a Jackson Phil Collen (PC3) with an Air Zone, Classic Stack, and Little 59, maple neck and top, mahogany body, floyd.

EMG 81 :)
dont be fooled by those that say the 81 is all treble
mine are FAT,can be smooth and have harmonics to spare!
i would swap you for your air zone if interested :)
