Pickup Advice - Squier HH Mustang

Hello all,
I decided to pickup one of the new Squier HH Mustangs to play around on. I have a pearly gates neck pickup laying around my garage and was wondering what would be a good pairing for that in the Mustang? I mostly play rock and blues through a Supro Black Magick with a 1x15 cab.

Basswood body, maple neck w/rosewood board 24 3/4" scale.

Going to rewire it of course, suggestions there are welcome too.

I have the JB in my Mustang and it sounds great.

Tone on a Mustang is bright based on construction and its thin body, so get a humbucker that is not too bright. I recommend Gibson 57 classic plus. Downside, its very pricey.

I like an Alnico II Pro. Are you going to wire it with a 3 or 5 way switch? If it is a 3 way, use a push pull (or a Fender S1 switch) to cut both coils. If it is a 5 way, check out this wiring I use in several guitars.

AII Pro's would be cool. But if you go that route, I'd suggest the "Slash" version. Just a little something extra there.
Having said that, it would also be hard to beat a matching PG for the bridge.
