Pickup advice

I need a recommendation for two different guitars:

1. Ibanez 570-Basswood body, Rosewood board, Floyd Rose bridge, Hum-Single-Hum.

For a good high output shred tone.

I am considering the Parallel Axis Distortion for the bridge and a 59 in the neck. Would this be appropriate or does anyone have any better suggestions? If so, what would work in the middle postion.

2. Fender Fat Strat-Alder, Rosewood neck, Standard bridge, Hum-Single-Single.

Looking for a versatile, well-rounded set-up that will enable me to play various rock styles.

I am considering perhaps a JB or Custom in the bridge. Does anyone have any better suggestions? Also, what would work in the neck and middle positions.

Re: Pickup advice

I use a Marshall JMP-1/Boogie 2:90 combination and a Marshal 2000 DSL, as well as other high gain amps.

Re: Pickup advice

If you don't want to spend a lot of money on the strat, I'd go with a pair of SSL-2's in the neck and mid and a 59 in the bridge. This WILL cover a lot of styles, seeing as you have enough gain coming from your amps.

As far as the Ibby goes, I've heard an APH/Cool Rails/JB combo in an S series that sounds nice for both clean and high gain work.
