Pickup cavity dimensions for single coil pickups with oval bottom.

Hey, I'm building a custom guitar that will be rear-routed, and I'm wondering what the dimensions of the pickup cavities should be. Does SD have any recommendations for the cavity dimensions for their single coil pickups with the oval bottom?

Welcome to the forum!

You can base your routing off of the dimensions of the pickup, which you can see here.

Hey, that has the v-shaped bottom. I'm talking about the single coils like this: https://www.seymourduncan.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/SSL5.pdf And how much extra space should be added to these dimensions? That's sort of what I was asking, since I'm sure you cannot make the cavity the exact dimensions as the pickup. EDIT: Based on the dimensions of this humbucker cavity http://www.warmoth.com/images/Guita...tratocaster/PickupRouting/HumbuckerWoodMt.jpg I'm thinking I should make the cavity something like 0.855 X 3.365.

Oh, oops. Well, it just needs to be slightly bigger, really. I know there are templates out there for routing, and if you are *great* with a router and hand tools, you can get super close.
