Pickup choices for Dinky DK2T

I'd love to hear from Dinky owners about what pickups they're digging and why. The stock JB and Jazz set is just not right for my guitar, IMHO. To my ears, the guitar has a bright, punchy tone. Not a lot of low end weight - but not weak or thin sounding. Sounds solid across the spectrum, but tilted upwards at the high end. The Jazz and JB seem to over-amplify this tonal balance.

For those who don't know Dinkys, the DK2T is: alder body, maple/rosewood neck, string-through bridge.

No actives :scared:, and Duncans and Dimarzios only (to keep myself sane.) It will be used for recording rock and metal, both clean and crunch.

I'm pretty much decided on an Air Norton or Dimarzio 36th Anniversary PAF for the neck, depending on the output of the bridge pickup I decide on. So the bridge is the big question. If I try to describe what I think I'm after, I'd say: sweet or fat high end, crunchy, and tight low end for drop and low tunings.

Duncans: Brobucker, Custom, PATB-2
Dimarzios: 36th Anniversary Bridge, Super Distortion, D Sonic

Opinions?

Cheers :beerchug:

I'm the owner of a Jackson Dinky DKMG and it has DiMarzio D Activators. I like them because, in their respective positons, they rule. The neck D Act is big and open sounding and very tight. The bridge D Act is hotter and cuts other objects in half! They both are very clean sounding. When both are used in unison for a clean tone, they're perfect sounding for Heavy Metal.

Some dudes've claimed the D Act bridge didn't have enough bass content for them and/or it sounded anemic. My claim to combat this, in part, is to use your amp in a way that - even under high gain settings, it still sounds and functions like a guitar amplier proper, at it's base. Do not have your amp end up sounding like a demon possessed, P-bass toting Bumblebee trying to imitate a six-string electric guitar amplifier. High volume has a way of fixing certain things. ;)

Dimarzios: Super distortion

That sounds like the winning bridge pickup. That being said, IDK what it's like for drop tuning. I'm pretty sure some guy over at the unofficial DiMarzio site said it was good for it though. IDK if it records well either.
