I have the posibility of having my own signature guitar... i've always been in a faithfull relationship with SD... but now I can't decide which configuration to choose from...

HSS
HSH
HH

I've narrow the pickups selection to:

(S-S-H) Seymour Duncan Hotrails SHR1-neck; Seymour Duncan Vintage Staggered SSL1- Middle; Seymour Duncan Custom Trembucker TB5-Bridge

(H-S-H) Seymour Duncan '59 SH1-neck; Seymour Duncan Vintage Staggered SSL1- Middle; Seymour Duncan Custom Trembucker TB5-Bridge

(H-H) Seymour Duncan '59 SH1-neck; Seymour Duncan Custom Trembucker TB5-Bridge

I've always been a HSH guy but now i can't really decide which way to go... thanks for your help !!!

Re: Pickup Configuration

The Hot Rails SHR-1 is a single coil-sized humbucker, so technically speaking your first example is an HSH not an HSS (electrical configuration). Correct, it's an HSS physical configuration.

However, you're going to have to make that decision on your own. It's like asking what color to paint your guitar.

Re: Pickup Configuration

Without being told anything about the specification of your personal guitar, it is impossible to make constructive comments on the suitability of your proposed pickup combinations or to suggest alternatives.

Re: Pickup Configuration

I mean this will all do respect but I would think that anyone in a position to have a signature guitar would already have a preference as simple as what pickup configuration they like worked out. This is very much akin to asking "hey guys do i like chocolate or vanilla"

Re: Pickup Configuration

thanks for all your comments... i've always found great respond from all the members... or those who answered my questions, and of course i've always used HSH configuration... I have a HSS but i've wanted to put a sized single coild humbucker in the neck position, but i've never had... actually the brand just gave me a HSS but it has a hot rail in the neck, and to tell you the truth i just love the sound out of it...

So that being said I'm sickting with a HSH configuration but with a HSS look... now to choose wether if i go with pickguard or without... thanks you guys
