Pickup For an Ibanez S570MQM

Guitar is Mahogany with a Maple neck and fretboard. The stock INF2 bridge sounds pretty good in this guitar, not too dark and pretty tight bass. The general sound and tightness on the bass is actually what I want but a little more definition, better harmonics, and better sustain. Maybe a touch more mids. I will be wanting to use all 5 position of the 5-way so I need something that splits will and a middle that give somewhat strat-ish tone but will work with the 2 humbuckers split. I have a JB/59 set so I will probably try those first, but the 59 is 2 conductor. I have not bought a single coil in many years so it is a mistery to me.

I have been thinking maybe an Evo (or 2), True Velve, and ??? tbut I am not sure. I am not the cleanest player. I sound kind of like this:smash:

JB/Jazz set
stick some rail pickup in the center
or a red velvet

the JB and jazz sound very single-ish split

good note distinction

you have to set the pickup height for the JB just so or it can be thin and brittle
then raise the Jazz' height till volumes match

If the JB/59 don't work for you, the PATB (Parallel Axis TremBucker) series are amazing in superstrats. I'd check out the PATB-1b in the bridge and the PATB-1n in the neck.

The reduced string pull and improved sustain are among the many benefits of the design, along with improved articulation, enhanced harmonics, high output and ridiculous dynamic responsiveness. Paradoxically open feeling for the output level.

There's a lot of great options for single coil sized pickups now, if you can suggest some artists whose (single coil) sound you like, narrowing it down gets easier.

RHCP, and others clean is what I want from the single. I am really loooking for the middle to give me some range. I usually use PAF's so if I go for something hotter in the neck and bridge I will want something very clean in the middle.

I know I want something medium to high output in the bridge. Low to medium in the neck, and clean in the middle.

Sounds like an SSL-2 Vintage Flat or STK-S4 Classic Stack Plus in the middle, then. [Or an SSL-1 Vintage Stagger if you like vintage stagger.] STK-S4 is a hum-cancelling SSL-2. SSL-1 is what Frusciante used.

An STK-S7 Hot Vintage Stack Plus is a slightly overwound but still vintage strat single tone. Slightly more SRV without the ludicrous string gauges and multiple amps, some with 15" speakers. Still great for cleans, but warmer and better volume balance with humbuckers.
