Pickup ID confirmation - Is this a PG?

Hello all! I bought this pickup a few years ago on ebay. It had no sticker on the bottom, but the seller said it was a Pearly Gates bridge. The DC resistance measures 8.31 to 8.33, depending which of my meters I use, temperature, etc. When I look at the Tone Chart, the PGb seems to be the only Duncan offering (neck or bridge) that falls in this resistance range. It has the short legs, "Seymour Duncan Made in America" stamped on the baseplate, and "Seymour Duncan" silk-screened on the bobbin.

So, for the experts on here: do you think this is a Pearly Gates bridge? I'd just like some confirmation, yay or nay...

*****PLEASE NOTE****** I added the vintage braided 2-conductor cable -- it originally had the black four-conductor on it*******

This pickup sounds great with a UOA5 in my Orville LP Goldtop. It definitely has the "Harmonics jump out of the guitar" thing down! I found I preferred roughcast A2 mags to the stock A2, but REALLY, REALLY like the UOA5 in this pup. I have another one (confirmed, with the sticker) in the bridge of an Epi Flying V. The two pups sound very similar (as much as can be determined, given the different woods/composition in these two guitars).

Thanks for any help!!

Re: Pickup ID confirmation - Is this a PG?

it is not a 59 or seth so my money goes on a PG bridge model.
if you take out the magnet and look for a color code it should have a blue mark on the magnets edge, signifying it is a A2 magnet which makes me even more convinced it is indeed a PGb:approve:

Re: Pickup ID confirmation - Is this a PG?

Thanks, Ed. I removed the original mag in favor of a roughcast A2 long ago, so I do not recall which mag in my "stash" came out of this pup. I've always been fairly confident it is, in fact, a PG, but thought it would be nice to get confirmation from some of the experts here. One aspect I was unsure of is the double row of polepiece holes in the baseplate -- I knew that eliminated 59's and Seths, but could not recall if the PG should have this baseplate.

Thanks again for your input!

Are the polepieces regular or Trembucker spaced? Regular G spacing and short legs could mean Pearly Gates Plus.

Ah, good question! It is 1 15/16", which I believe is regular spacing (not TB). Are you saying this could make it a PG+? I was under the impression the PG+ was wound even hotter than a standard PG?

listen i dont want to burst anyones bubble but the PG+ is just a PG with the A5 swap, this it is overwound is not true,i have had/have 4 PG+ pup's and three reg PG's and they all read within the 8.2K-8.78K
one PG+ read at 8.3K and one of my reg PG's read at 8.7K. so feel free to say you own a PG+ if you have swapped the 2 for a 5....:approve:
