Hi guys. I bought my Fender American Special Toronado about a year ago and it has become the most comfortable, perfect dual humbucker guitar for me. The stock fender 'Atomic' humbuckers seemed to cut it very well in the begining but now I feel like they are stopping from showing the guitars true vibe and sound. This is a very resonant guitar and shakes and vibrates like no other. It is setup with a Adjustomatic tailpiece/stopbar which is basically a nashville TOM on Gibsons also with Gibson 24 3/4 style scale length. Currently the pickups have two adjustments screws on one side and one on the other, like other Fender humbucker model guitars you have probably seen. Firstly, I would want to change both pickups and put in 2 rs/hovland caps because it already has cts pots. Would the string spacing, etc work for me here? The neck pickup I have decided on already is a Alnico Pro II, but with the bridge I'm clueless. I'm thinking PG, CC, 59 will even consider ordering a custom made 'Brobucker' that I've heard you guys talk so good about. This guitar has a beautifully offset contoured jazzmaster style alder body, maple neck with rosewood board - 9 1/2" radius, medium jumbos. I play mostly harder style rock and like huge sounding power chords with clarity and a sweet singing top end. I would also want to use the tone/vol controls to tame it if I wanted to play some blues based and or softer mellow rock. Any suggestions, reccomendations would be greatly appreciated. This forum has taught me a lot of things and it rules. Thanks.
