:headache: Ok Ive got this young client that I am building a Les Paul body guitar for, that is really into metal. When I asked for the tone he is looking for he is all over the place.
Wants great Chuggs and likes clear soloing sound as well. They play modern heavy metal and are a new band that think they know guitars and pickups but really dont. I have started to explain to them that pedals and amps can help get the distortion when they need it. I have to keep an eye on them all the time, or they show up with pickups people sell them that I have to install for them and they always hate them. They are not in a position to spend a lot of money. So this get ridculous. I am not in to heavy metal so I really not the best of help. I am in to Blues and Classic rock so I know the pickups I like for those tones.
The Bands they like the sound of is God smack, and disturded if that helps. He also said that he like the pickups to have a little bluesy tone as well. Now I know different guitar are in their future as they change songs but for now they dont have the budget for that at this time.
I already have four sets in my inventory as listed, Duncan Pearly gates, Dimarzio 36th Anv's Usa Prs SC250's bridge and neck HFS bridge and Vintage neck Duncans Antiquities bridge and neck. I also have a Guitar fetish P90ish dream 180 neck sitting around. He loves the PRS Vintage I installed in his Ibanez as we waited on the HFs to become availible. Ibanez is going away hates it. Now the Ibanez will be used till I can finish the Les Paul body and I want to keep them happy. I am sponsoring them and do all their guitar Amp work. They are actually doing well Hired a manager and started to record their first Album. (?? who knows right) At least he has good taste about the Les Paul Body style. Any Ideas I am open minded but would like to keep it within the inventory I have already if possible.
