Pickup Suggestion: Chambered Mahogany Tele HH

Can anyone suggest a pair of full sized humbuckers for my Tele?

Specs:
-Warmoth Chambered Mahogany body with 2 full humbucker route
-Fender Maple neck/fretboard
-Traditional 3 brass saddle bridge with bigsby

I play everything from funk/jazz to Scandinavian metal, love the PAF sound but might prefer something slightly hotter for this guitar. Thanks!

Re: Pickup Suggestion: Chambered Mahogany Tele HH

I have to apologize because it seems that every post i recommend humbuckers for seems to be for the whole lotta humbucker set.
It just seems that so many people recently have been looking for something that the WLH is perfect for. While you are in there doing the wiring, add some coil splits and you will be a happy camper for sure.

Re: Pickup Suggestion: Chambered Mahogany Tele HH

I like the WLH but I would prefer something with more power in the bridge. I would also like something with more cut/presence.

Re: Pickup Suggestion: Chambered Mahogany Tele HH

funk and jazz to scandinavian metal, that sounds like a work for the Black Winter Set

Re: Pickup Suggestion: Chambered Mahogany Tele HH

I might try out a '59/C Hybrid bridge with a Whole Lotta Humbucker neck. That would theoretically be an extremely versatile set, though I haven't tried it myself (not together, anyhow).

Re: Pickup Suggestion: Chambered Mahogany Tele HH

BW is a good idea but I would prefer something warmer and less output. The guitar is quite bright sounding.

I like the sound of this, has anyone tried the 59/C with alnico 2?

Re: Pickup Suggestion: Chambered Mahogany Tele HH

The FSR Teles that Fender made had Pearly Gates.
They sounded fantastic especially split. Great tele twang!
I'd say anything low output PAF would be cool in that Whole Lottas Pearly Gates AP2s Slash set or Seths depending the vibe you want..
I haven't played a chambered one but I jammed on a solid mahogany and set mahogany neck one with Pearly Gates and it was a fantastic guitar.
It would go from a Tele tone to an SG growl.. It really sounded a lot like an SG Standard to me..

The Pegasus/Sentient set would be good too, and it is a pretty versatile set as well. Certainly more power, but not that much. It has enough highs in there for funk.

OK, I'll throw one more out there: Demon/Alt8. In Triple Shot rings.

The Demon I'm not too fond of, but have never tried the Alt8. I dont think it's going to work for me either, the EQ seem to be very pushed all the way, not what I want.

Just for reference the guitar currently has a
-P-rails neck (with triple shot but mostly on humbucker mode, P-90s seem way thinner than I like in this guitar)
-TV Jones Classic plus bridge (I like this one, but would prefer something a lil bit more hair and gristle)

I second this. If you want to go active, the EMG 57/66 is a phenomenal set as well.

For passives, then the Pegasus/Sentient is the best combo for you, IMO.

Believe it or not I installed a pair of Blackouts in it, what an eye opener. It sounded great!! I even prefer these to the 57/66.

Not sure how it will handle the cleaner stuff, but we'll see...

Re: Pickup Suggestion: Chambered Mahogany Tele HH

Let us know how the Blackouts sound for the clean stuff, like the jazz and funk!
