Pickup Suggestions for H/S/H alder

I have an EBMM Silhouette, alder body, HSH, configuration, fixed bridge.

I like the pups in it but I need a little more output. I have always found Duncans to be more toneful.

Any suggestions? I just need a nice, warm, vintage styled PAF vibe ...and a tad hotter than what I have now.

Thank you

Had your exact model. Came with PAF Pro's right? Terrible. No balls at all.

Choice 1:
Seymour Duncan: Jazz SH-2 - Duckbucker SDBR-1 - JB SH-4

Choice 2:
DiMarzio: Air Norton DP193 - Cruiser Neck DP186/Fast Track 1 DP181 - Tone Zone DP155

I LOVE the Van Zandt True Bucker. IMO its perfect for what you are looking for, it really is a great pickup.

Other option is the Custom 5. At lest for me it feels like a PAF on steroids (hotter than the VZ).

I wanted a sort of Jimmy Herring type tone. So, I was gonna go with a pair of 59's. But I thought it may be too bright? Should I stick with A2 mags for warmth? This stuff is confusing.

It's super confusing dude.

Pickups that would otherwise sound meaty in thicker body guitars are just watered down in these superstrats.

I find it in my experience, you should just get some beefy output pickups so you can have something to work with and roll back your amp and volume to shape your tone.

If you have weak saucepickups, you'll find yourself buying ten million distortion pedals and never being satisfied.

Good point. I appreciate the input. Thanks!

With a fixed bridge, it shouldn't be as gutless as many superstrats, but the snap and punch of a 25.5" scale bolt-on maple & alder instrument is different from the warmth and guts of a 24.75" set neck mahogany.

'59s might work for you, a lot of people do like them in teles. Herring's used '59s in strats, so if you liked that sound from him, fair odds it'd work for you.

The Custom UOA5 is a good starting place for the bridge. The JB is known for working well in alder & maple, too. A2 is great in either as well. Custom UOA5 is probably closer to a hotter vintage PAF.

Most PAF purists will deny anything but a 42AWG 7.5-8.5K bridge pickup is like a PAF.

I tend to like hotter pickups to try and get the tonal balance closer, but you have to watch you don't overshoot and lose dynamics as well. I think your best bet probably is the '59s, though, assuming your touch is anything like Herring's, or you want to work on getting it there.
