Pickup suggestions for Jackson DK-2

The JEM Ghost

Hi to all! I am currently saving up to buy myself a Jackson DK-2, i ll buy it because of the S-S-H configuration, i wanted some SC sounds in my repertoire as well.
I want it to be a versatile calibrated configuration, with enough output, hot enough, but still articulate, and i don't want to go for rail-type pups as well.
My first thought was:
SD SSL-6 Custom Flat at neck
SD SSL-6 Custom Flat RW/RP at middle
SD TB-6 Custom in the bridge.
What do you guys think?
Thanks for the input!

You say TB-6 Custom. Do you mean TB-6 Distortion or TB-5 Custom? It sounds like a good combo, the only thing I would be worried about is the bridge pickup overpowering the single coils. I might put a hotter single coil in the mid or neck just to meet the other two pickups halfway.

Sorry i mistyped that one, i ment the TB-5 Custom humbucker at the bridge position. Sorry about the confusion!

he's right though

the custom may overpower the single coils so it may be a good idea to go for a hotter single coil.

weeell hold on now...overpowering the singlecoils isn't always a bad thing.

My Fender Strat has two stock Strat pups from the 60's and a Hot Rails. Needless to say, the Hot Rails overpowers the singles biiiig time. So the way I have it configured is, the neck single-coil's tone is turned down for a bassier, bluesy clean tone. The middle one is left with the tone dimed so it's got a bright lead tone going for it. In conjunction with my distortion pedal, i can cover any rockin tone i need.

Now if I need MORE rock or maybe a little evil in my sound, turn on the Hot Rails. It overdrives my amp's clean signal ever-so-slightly at low volumes and a LOT at high volumes -- for a while I was using the Hot Rails as a replacement for my DS-1! -- but it really shines under distortion. Gets me from 60's rockin to modern deathgrindcore with just a stomp and a switch...
