Pickup suggestions for mahagony super strat

First Post! I have a Charvel 88 custom that I need a new pickup for. I was thinking about a 78 custom shop. The guitar is mahogany with a rosewood finger board. I want a moderate output full spectrum pickup that cleans up well, but can roar a bit too. The guitar is older and fairly warm sounding, and I am not sure the 78 would be a good fit. Any suggestions?

I think the reg. spaced Full Shred should work very well in the slanted bridge slot. That, or a Seymourizer (Distortion neck). I'd try to stick to moderate output pickups with really tight lows.

The 78 sounds like a good choice. I would also recommend the RTM model humbucker if your looking at CS offerings and also the bridge humbucker from the Whole lotta humbucker set.

Thanks for the advice. Maybe I will try the Full Shred. It's come across my radar several times now. Worst case, I get to cross it of the list.

I know you said moderate output, so this may not be your cup o tea, but I just got a mahog super that has a distortion/jb set and it smokes!! I do want to try a RTM as they are killer too. And the new hybrid sounds amazing in my Charvel! (alder tho, but Im sure it kills in mahog too!)

Full Shred doesn't sound like a bad suggestion at all. Also what about the Screamin' Demon (you could use it in both the neck and bridge) if for some reason you don't gel with the full shreds?

Good point BloodRose, hybrids seem very promising in that application.

Sooner or later, somebody is going to match that description to the Screaming Demon, right?

Matching that description to the Screaming Demon was just a question of time:

Afaik, the Model 88 has just one slanted humbucker at the bridge, much like a Baretta or a Gunslinger.
Feel free to post a picture, they are some pretty guitars.
