Pickup suggestions

Hello. I'm new to the forum. There are so many options for pickups... I'm completely overwhelmed. :34:

Can you offer me your advice/input?

First of all, I'm playing a Fernandes Vertigo guitar with a mahogany body and mahogany set-neck. Rosewood fretboard. 24 3/4 scale. Tune-o-matic style bridge.

I'm playing through a Roland JC-120 solid state amp, strictly through the clean channel and I rely on various pedals for my distortion and effects.

I'm looking for the best 2 Humbucker combination that will provide me with:

-the best medium and heavy distortion sound for the bridge... nice and defined with rich tone and harmonics. Not muddy, but not ice-picky, either.

-the nicest cleans in the neck. Shimmering and pretty clean sounds.


Two more quick questions...

-Can the PATB-2 be used with a guitar like the one I just described? Or does it perform best with tremelo-equipped guitars?

-Is a Full Shred bridge and '59 neck a good combo?


Thanks, that's all I'm going to post for this particular guitar. Sorry about all the ramblings and questions. I'm sure these types of posts are probably the most common and tedious, but I'm just completely overwhelmed and intimidated after looking at countless possiblities.

Custom/Pearly gates. That will do it. Possibly the Jazz over the Pearly gates?? The Jazz will be more bell like but, they will both get the job done and match the Custom well.

Yes, the Full shred/59 is a good combo but, not the combo you would want in this case.

The PATB-2 is a good pickup and I suppose it could be used but, it is more designed with trem equiped guitars in mind.
