Pickup suggetions (whatelse hah)

I've been lerking here for a while this is my First real post. I've replyed to others stuff in the past, but never eally had any reason to ask a question of my own. Cause someone else had already asked all of them. But I finally got a question that hasn't been asked. Since most people don't seem to take body wood into consideration when looking for pickups. So Here it goes.

Ok so heres the deal. I've got a Fender Jaguar With a swamp ash body Maple neck and rosewood finger board. With the standard Jag style trem on it But with a Tun'o'matic style Bridge (instead of the jag bridge which sux). Right now I've got a Duncan Distortion in the bridge, which I had Put an alnico II mag in (for increased Mids and lower output), and a 59 in the neck. But I'm really looking to get a New bridge pickup in it. Something with low/moderate Out put, and really heavy on the mids and bass. But with not very much Treble. I tend to like darker sounding pickups. I'm looking for something with alnico II or V mags preferably. And Something That I can get in white. I was contemplateing a Gibson 498T which I got in my Epiphone dot. But I know they don't come in white. ANd I'm not sure how it would sound in a solid body. Considering I know that the Sg's that use those pickups kinda sound really trebley and annoying. So I was wondering if Anyone here has any suggestions on a Good bridge pickup that has tons of mids, and a healthy does of bass, but doesn't have very much treble. That comes in white (suggest any manufacture not just duncans). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx in advance
Ed

Hey Ed; Welcome to the forum. I'll let one of the better pup experts make suggestions, but did want to comment on a couple things:

Actually, I think most folks do take body wood into consideration. ;)

One to thing to consider, trying to get treble into a pup is a question of careful selection - trying to get rid of treble, can be as easy as hardwiring a preset tone control across the pups output.

For example: find the pup you like, but may have too much treble, then wire a 100k resistor in series with a .022uf cap across its output wires.

Obviously, you select the component values based on the sound you want, but its an option. Just a thought. ;)

Hey welcome to the forum,

Maybe a Custom or a CC. But both are medium - High output.

I'd say alnico 2 for sure! And I think the one to try first would be the Custom Custom. Lots of mids and very, very smooth highs. My favorite of the Duncan Custom pickups. Lew
