Noob question: I have an Ernie Ball Cutlass with passive humbuckers and an active boost/coil split. I’m not really digging the stock pups and want to get some Duncans installed. Would I lose the active boost and coil split functions?
if the pups are passive, you should be able to use other passive pups with the active circuit in the guitar without issue. ive used an active boost circuit on guitars with passive pups, and its very common on basses as well.
